New research funding aims to improve the health of women

UC Davis Health — September 9, 2021

UC Davis School of Medicine will receive funds set aside but no longer needed to settle a class-action lawsuit against Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. The award will fund projects focused on women of color and in underserved communities.

The $24 million in cy pres funds for UC Davis School of Medicine will back projects to improve the health of women.

Study: No Serious COVID-19 Vaccine Side Effects in Breastfeeding Moms, Infants

Researchers found that breastfeeding mothers who received either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccination reported the same local or systemic symptoms as what has been previously reported in non-breastfeeding women, with no serious side effects in the breastfed infants.
