Graduating medical school students across the country are getting ready for the next milestone in their journey to becoming licensed physicians. March 17 is Match Day, when they will find out where they will train during their residencies. 

At UC's six medical schools, more than 700 students will open envelopes on Match Day that tell them where they will head next for their residencies, which are a stage of training that can last anywhere from three to seven years.

Here are the stories of some of the students who make up California's next wave of physicians.
